U.S. Presidential Golden Dollar Coin & Stamp Collection
“This historic collection brings together a series of collector folios—one for each President—each consisting of two golden legal tender dollar coins issued in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are part of the long-anticipated Presidential Dollar Coins Series, the first such coins ever issued by the U.S. Mint.
One coin will be minted in Philadelphia, the other in Denver. Each will feature a forward-facing portrait of the President it honors. Moreover, each will have the date of issue and mintmark (P for Philadelphia; D for Denver) incused on the edge, in addition to the mottos In God We Trust and E Pluribus Unum.
These are the only U.S. coins ever issued with a portrait of the Statue of Liberty on the obverse, in place of the customary inscription of the word “Liberty.” These distinctive features make the coins all the more unique, and all the more desirable to collectors.
The coins in this series will be minted in extremely brief minting runs. After each run is complete, the coining dies will be destroyed, thereby assuring the instant scarcity prized by knowledgeable collectors.
Adding to the distinction of this landmark collection, each set will include an official, out-of-issue U.S. Commemorative Postage Stamp bearing the image of the featured President.”
